A Look at Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Born on January 3, 1995, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is a professional basketball player who has had a pretty impressive career since he started playing.
Hollis-Jefferson, who hails from Chester, Pennsylvania, started playing basketball when he was a young tyke. At the age of 12, he really started to become passionate about playing basketball. It was at this age that he started to take a real interest in defense, though he thought it was only because he was taller than anyone he played with that he scored.
The Chester High School alum really started to get noticed when he stood out as an exceptional basketball player. It was here that he played as a small forward and he then became the first player ever to be named the Player of the Year for several seasons in Delaware County.
From high school, Hollis-Jefferson went on to the University of Arizona, where his career as a basketball player really started to take off. During his freshmen year, his name became synonymous with being an incredible scorer, as well as a shot-blocker and a rebounder. As he continued his college career, Hollis-Jefferson really started to improve his free throwing skills. He also continued to hone his basketball playing skills in general, including playing offense. He was credited with leading the Wildcats, Arizona’s basketball team, to two Elite Eight appearances in a row.
Hollis-Jefferson’s college career was cut short because in 2015, he was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was the 23rd overall pick this year. His career with the Trail Blazers didn’t last long, though because he was quickly traded to the Brooklyn Nets. On July 5 of this year, he signed his first contract with the Nets. It is believed that Hollis-Jefferson will have an incredible career as a professional basketball player.
